Senator Manuel Roxas II and ABS-CBN, anchor Korina Sanchez tieed the knot at the Santo Domingo Church in Quezon City at 3 p.m. on October 27, 2009, Tuesday. The 45-year-old bride wore a serpentina-style Filipiniana gown created by Pepito Albert.
The Jaro Archbishop, Angel Lagdameo, conducted the Roman Catholic wedding exchange of vows. Around 3,000 people witnessed the wedding ceremony inside the church, while an additional crowd estimated to be 2,000 milled outside.
Due to the recent hit by typhoons Ondoy and Pepeng, the couple forego their grand reception and decided to donate the expenses to the victims of the said calamity. Instead, a private reception was held at Mar's home after the wedding rites.
